Meedee by the Numbers
Key facts about our Xiamen ribbon factory.
Production & Equipment
Weaving, dyeing, printing, slitting and packing all happen on this floor, keeping your order under one roof from yarn to finished roll.
Production runs across these lines, with widths from 3mm to 100mm in single face and double face constructions.
In-house Designers
A factory is only as good as what it can develop. Our in-house designers turn buyer briefs into production-ready ribbon, new colorways, print layouts and seasonal styles drawn from a library of 1,200+ existing designs.
That is the engine behind our ODM service: you describe the market and the price point, we return artwork and a physical sample. Design work is free on every program.
- New style development from your brief, target market and price point
- 1,200+ proven styles available as ODM starting points
- Artwork, colorway and print layout for all 17 printing techniques
- Free design service, no artwork fees on OEM/ODM programs

Quality Control & Export Packaging
Quality checks cover raw yarn, in-process work and the finished roll. Product and material certificates, a worksite social audit and the quality-management certificate have separate scopes.
Incoming-material inspection starts at the yarn and dye stuffs before anything reaches a loom. In-process checks run on every line, width, color shade, print registration and edge finish, and finished-goods inspection clears each roll before it is wound for export.
Export packaging is prepared to your market’s requirements: standard 10 / 25 / 100-yard rolls, retail winding, spools, hang tags and branded cartons through our Packaging Solution service. We ship worldwide from Xiamen.

Oeko-Tex
Check the OEKO-TEX certificate scope and product class for the selected article and its intended use.

GRS
Global Recycled Standard, covers our RPET recycled ribbon range.

Sedex (SMETA)
Social audit completed at our Xiamen factory.

ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.
How to confirm ribbon specs before you compare quotes
Shortlist a ribbon making materials supplier by confirming six specs before you compare price: material and construction, width and edge finish, colour continuity, print or finish route, put-up and packing, and certification scope. Each one is a quote assumption the supplier should confirm in writing, not a detail you settle after the purchase order.
| Spec to confirm | What to check with the factory | Buyer risk if unverified | Verification check | Next action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Material and construction | Match the fibre and weave named in the artwork brief | A different weave changes hand feel, stretch, and print behaviour | Material sample labelled with fibre and construction | Approve material before artwork is released |
| Width and edge finish | Confirm width tolerance and whether the edge is woven or cut | Edge type drives fraying, stiffness, and how the roll feeds | Measured sample rolls from the trial batch | Record the confirmed width on the RFQ |
| Colour and lot continuity | Approve colour against the signed standard under an agreed light | Lot-to-lot drift splits a reorder across two shades | Lab dip or bulk sample with the light source noted | Sign the colour standard before bulk |
| Print or finish route | Choose a method that suits the material and the artwork detail | Wrong method fails adhesion or loses fine detail | Sample printed on the production route | Approve the printed sample |
| Put-up and packing | Confirm roll length, core, and pack count as specified | Wrong put-up breaks the packing line and adds handling | Roll-count and core check at loading | Lock the pack spec into the quote |
| Certification scope | Ask the factory to confirm coverage for the exact style | A certificate that does not cover the item is a dead end | Written confirmation of scope for that style | File the confirmation with the purchase order |
Run this table as a gate, not a formality. A factory that answers every row in writing has already shown how it handles change control; one that replies “standard” without numbers is showing you where the reorder argument starts.
What to verify in the sample and production sign-off
Name one person to approve the sample and record every deviation, and a second owner for changes once production starts. Keep the signed sample with the width, edge, colour, and print notes, and reference it in the purchase order. If the factory cannot produce the same file on request, treat the spec as open rather than closed.
Run the checks at the first metres and again at the roll change, because width, edge, and colour are easiest to correct early and expensive to correct late. Log each check, name the inspector, and keep the record with the order.
